Manufacturer: TriStar Type: Shotgun Model: Viper Max Caliber: 12 Ga Barrel Length: 28" Optics: Fiber-optic front sight ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4307 S/N: DU20M2166 Ref #: 1460514 Notes: A TriStar Viper Max gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun in 12 gauge, with a 28-inch ventilated-rib barrel, bronze-colored metalwork and reed-pattern camouflage furniture. The contrast between the warm metallic finish, marsh-pattern stock and black gripping panels is a defining feature of this example. A bright fiber-optic front sight completes the long sporting-barrel configuration. The synthetic buttstock has a contoured pistol grip and a substantial black recoil pad, while the matching fore-end has a dark textured panel along each side. The receiver carries TriStar and Viper Max markings. The raised ventilated rib supplies a clear sighting plane above the barrel, with the fiber-optic element providing a conspicuous front reference. The Viper Max family uses a gas-operated action designed around separate light- and heavy-load pistons, accommodating the range from target ammunition to heavier waterfowl loads. The manufacturer also incorporates a magazine cut-off in this design, allowing the chamber and magazine feed to be controlled separately. These features explain the model’s role as a versatile sporting autoloader, complementing the camouflage furniture and long ventilated-rib barrel. The camouflage pattern and bronze-colored finish remain well defined, with modest exterior wear consistent with use.
