The receiver, barrel, tubular magazine and ribbed fore-end remain together. The separate stock incorporates a pistol grip, shoulder support, ventilated buttpad and integral shell carrier, making it a significant included component of this incomplete assembled configuration. The dark receiver bears Maverick Arms, Eagle Pass, Texas, and Model 88 markings. A bead front sight sits above the plain barrel, and the tubular magazine follows the barrel’s underside. The molded ribs of the sliding fore-end provide a broad gripping surface without separate checkering panels. The Model 88 uses a cross-bolt safety at the trigger guard, a distinguishing feature within the related Mossberg and Maverick pump-shotgun designs. Its conventional pump action and tube-fed layout are accompanied here by the detached folding-stock assembly. The folded shoulder section can sit alongside the stock body, contrasting with the fixed proportions of a conventional sporting buttstock. The barrel, magazine tube and cap have extensive rust and finish loss. The receiver and black synthetic components show additional use wear.
