The rifle combines the M1A’s recognizable receiver and aperture-sight arrangement with a modern stock featuring a raised cheekpiece and adjustable butt section. Those stock adjustments and the fore-end-mounted support are central features of this particular equipment package. The Springfield Armory-marked stock has a contoured pistol grip, textured gripping panels and a deeply ribbed rubber recoil pad. Separate cheekpiece and butt adjustments allow the stock’s contact surfaces to be configured independently. A rail beneath the fore-end carries the bipod, whose two legs fold and have individual extension sections. The rifle retains its aperture rear sight with adjustment knobs, protected front sight and long slotted muzzle device. The receiver is marked “US RIFLE M1A / SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” above serial 402402. No optical sight or magazine is included. The M1A is Springfield Armory’s commercial semi-automatic development of the U.S. M14 rifle. The gas-operated platform preserves the M14-derived receiver and sighting layout, while this adjustable stock and bipod give the example a supported-shooting configuration distinct from a conventional fixed wood stock. Oxidation is visible around the receiver and sight hardware. The synthetic stock has surface abrasion and residue, while its separate cheekpiece, butt section and bipod remain present.
