The substantial black slide and polymer frame give the JHP its distinctive full-size profile. This example has a Hogue textured grip sleeve with molded finger grooves and an extended magazine base, bringing a contoured gripping surface to the otherwise angular design. The JHP uses a striker-fired, straight-blowback action with a fixed barrel. In that arrangement, slide mass and spring resistance are central to the operating system, accounting for the broad, substantial slide. The fixed-barrel design is a distinguishing feature of this model rather than the tilting-barrel arrangement found on many other centerfire pistols. A fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight sit above the slide, with grasping serrations at the rear. A short accessory-mounting section is molded beneath the barrel, and the manual safety is on the left side of the frame. The accompanying magazine is fitted with a broad black base that extends the grip’s lower contour. The black surfaces show ordinary use wear, with the grip texture and principal markings remaining visible.
