Manufacturer: Smith & Wesson Type: Revolver Model: 629-6 Caliber: .44 Mag Barrel Length: 5.75" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4392 S/N: CTF9535 Ref #: N/A Notes: A Smith & Wesson Model 629-6 double-action revolver in .44 Magnum, with a 5.75-inch barrel, six-chamber fluted cylinder and black rubber grips. The stainless-steel configuration combines a partial barrel underlug with a red-insert front ramp sight and adjustable rear sight. These features give the revolver the familiar appearance of Smith & Wesson’s large-frame sporting .44s. The Model 629 belongs to Smith & Wesson’s N-frame family, pairing the .44 Magnum chambering with a large frame and six-shot cylinder. Its exposed hammer and swing-out cylinder retain the conventional double-action revolver layout. The “629-6” marking is visible inside the frame with the cylinder open, identifying this specific model revision. The textured rubber grips bear the Smith & Wesson emblem and provide a broad, rounded gripping surface. The red front-sight insert supplies a contrasting aiming reference against the stainless barrel, while the adjustable rear sight permits changes to the sight setting. The cylinder and its yoke remain present. The external cylinder-release thumbpiece is missing, exposing the release stem. Scattered oxidation and use wear are visible on the metal, including around the cylinder recess and ejector area.
