Manufacturer: Winchester, M&D, PPU, Great Land, Union Metallic Cartridge Product Line: Target/Range, Handgun Line; factory and remanufactured labels Caliber: .38 Special Bullet Weight: 130 gr, 148 gr, 158 gr Bullet Style: FMJ, wadcutter, semi-wadcutter, lead round nose Quantity: 287 live rounds and 35 empty cases A mixed .38 Special ammunition group containing 287 live cartridges, 35 empty cases and a green military ammunition can. The live-round assortment comprises 150 wadcutters, 35 semi-wadcutters, 50 lead round-nose cartridges and 52 full-metal-jacket cartridges. Winchester, Remington UMC, Prvi Partizan, M&D and Great Land packaging is represented. Package labels include 130-, 148- and 158-grain loads. The Prvi Partizan box identifies 158-grain lead round nose, and Great Land’s label identifies 158-grain semi-wadcutter remanufactured ammunition. M&D packages are also labeled factory remanufactured, with mixed case headstamps visible among their contents. The flat-front wadcutters, projecting semi-wadcutter shoulders and round-nose bullets make the different profiles readily distinguishable within the group. The ammunition can has a hinged lid, top carrying handle and yellow military stencils for 7.62mm cartridges. Those exterior markings relate to the can’s former contents; the included ammunition is .38 Special. The 35 empty cases are separate from the 287 live rounds. Open-package contents were checked unless factory sealed, and the can and boxes show storage wear.
