A fanciful carving in fossil walrus tusk depicting a bull walrus resting atop an ice flow made from fossil bone by the St. Lawrence Island born Siberian Yup'ik artist, Moses Soonagrook (b.1961). Further intrigue is added to the piece in acknowledging an embedded rock on top of the animals head, evidence of a naturally occurring feat showing a strong impact as a young creature that the tusk continued to grow around. Measures approximately 4" x 3" x 2.75" tall.
