Category: Taxidermy & Furs

A fox squirrel (Sciurus niger) taxidermy specimen posed on all four feet in a walking stance, with its tail curving upward behind it. The gray-brown and reddish coat contrasts with a pale muzzle. It is displayed on an irregular wood-and-bark slab. The squirrel is not securely attached to the base; metal mounting rods are exposed at the feet. The fur is uneven, with sparse areas along the tail, and the wood is rough and splitting with losses and dark handwritten marks. Overall dimensions are approximately 22 by 6 by 12 inches high.
