A North American porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum) taxidermy mount standing on a curved driftwood base. Its rounded body is covered in long brown guard hairs, with pale-tipped quills visible across the back and around the tail. A blunt muzzle, small eyes and visible whiskers lend the face a compact, inquisitive character. The mount is freestanding, and the base retains its weathered grain, splits and irregular edges. No taxidermist's mark is visible. Overall dimensions are approximately 25.5 inches long by 7.5 inches wide by 18 inches high.
