A blue glass fishing float held within an elaborate open wooden cage. Closely interlocked, pointed wooden elements form crossing circular bands around the globe, leaving broad openings through which the glass can be seen. The float can be removed from its holder, as shown in the photographs. Bubbles and irregularities in the glass catch the light around the raised circular sealing area. The cage has a short twine loop at the top. Surface marks and dark inclusions are visible in the glass, with wear to the wood and twine. The complete display measures approximately 14 inches wide by 14 inches deep by 16.5 inches high.
