A Vermont Castings Vigilant cast-iron wood stove with double front doors, a lifting top griddle and an oval flue outlet. ‘VIGILANT’ and ‘VERMONT CASTINGS PARLOR STOVE’ are cast into the body, and the fireback bears ‘1977.’ Included loose components comprise four legs, a mesh spark screen, a rear heat shield, pipe sections and fittings, and small hardware as photographed. The stove and fittings show rust, soot or residue, surface scaling and finish wear. Flaking and a pronounced horizontal line are visible across the fireback. The legs are detached. The stove body measures approximately 28.5 by 24 by 23 inches in its photographed configuration.
