A compact selenite polar bear carving with its head lifted and forepaws drawn close to the chest. Rounded limbs, lightly incised claws and a polished, translucent white surface give the seated figure a gentle expression. The stone's parallel grain catches the light across the body. The underside is signed ‘Tim’, and the carving is attributed to Iñupiaq artist Tim Henry of Brevig Mission, Alaska. It measures approximately 4 inches long by 3 inches wide by 5.75 inches high.
