An Arctic grayling carved from mineralized walrus jawbone by Alaska artist Michael E. Scott, shown with a tall, sail-like dorsal fin, incised gill details and ivory-and-bone inlaid eyes. The fish is raised on metal pins above a green-and-white soapstone base, mounted on wood with a felt underside. The stone is incised m. scott 1991. The mineralized jawbone has a textured, porous surface with small fissures and worn edges. Adhesive residue is visible around the mounting pins where they enter the stone. The stone and wood show scratches and small edge abrasions. Overall dimensions are approximately 7 by 2.25 by 4.5 inches high.
