A miniature baleen basket by Terry Hawley of Point Hope, Alaska, with a fitted lid topped by a carved ivory whale-tail fluke. Dark woven strips spiral around the rounded body, contrasting with the pale, smoothly carved finial. Flat baleen starter discs remain visible at the base and beneath the lid. The underside is signed ‘Terry Hawley’ and inscribed ‘Pt. Hope’. The basket measures approximately 3 inches in diameter by 2.5 inches high.
