A green soapstone face beneath a wooden walrus-form headdress, with long pale wooden tusks descending over the forehead. Incised lines define the face, while dotted whisker marks animate the polished wooden muzzle above it. A full arrangement of patterned feathers surrounds the mask, and a strand of red and cream beads ending in feathers hangs below. The reverse is signed ‘Bowhan Kealiher’, inscribed ‘Nome, AK’ and dated ‘1-8-08’. A hanging cord is attached. Overall dimensions are approximately 9 inches wide by 1.5 inches deep by 12 inches high.
