An original ink and watercolor by Alaska artist Richard Wilson ‘Toby’ Tyler (1927–2016), depicting Ninilchik as a compact arrangement of village buildings, a fishing boat and the Russian Orthodox church rising above them. Crisp dark outlines and restrained ochre, gray and green washes give the architecture a clear, geometric rhythm. Signed ‘R.W. Tyler’ at the lower right, the work is matted and framed. The paper and mat show visible yellowing or toning, and the frame has light surface wear. Overall dimensions are approximately 11.5 inches wide by 12.5 inches high.
