Wilson Hess carved a bear bending toward a salmon beneath an outstretched bird in this elongated soapstone relief. The shallow modeling follows the stone's warm brown, green-gray and darker mottling, allowing the natural pattern to remain prominent around the animals. A small rear support holds the slab upright for display. The reverse is signed ‘Wilson Hess’ and dated 2015. The artwork measures approximately 15.75 inches long by 1.5 inches deep by 6 inches high.
