"Poe Stream", an original oil painting signed Nicely, depicting a rocky woodland streambed beneath dense green trees. Thickly applied paint gives texture to the rocks and foliage. The reverse label names C. Nicely, dates the work June 1965 and identifies the subject as "Poe Stream", between Poe Lake and Poe Paddy in Pennsylvania. The painting is on a Craftint 12-by-16-inch canvas board, set in a wood frame with a pale liner. The frame has substantial finish rubbing, especially along the dark inner border; the reverse board shows discoloration and old adhesive marks. Overall framed dimensions are approximately 20.75 inches wide by 16.75 inches high.
