A stone-and-wood kayak sculpture signed Hansel Komakhuk, Nome, AK, and dated 1988 underneath. A seated hunter with a dark stone parka and contrasting brown face and hands holds a double-ended wooden paddle. A stone float and cord accompany the long wooden harpoon, with a separate carved stone seal figure included. The seal figure is detached and has old adhesive residue underneath. Additional adhesive is visible around the seated figure, with scratches, small edge abrasions and worn finish on the wood and stone. The underside has extensive residue and finish loss. The recorded overall dimensions are approximately 8.5 by 12.5 by 4 inches high.
