An American bison, also commonly called buffalo, skull with broad, outward-and-upward-curving horn cores. The rough, porous cores are exposed rather than covered by intact dark horn sheaths. The skull is presented without a lower jaw and retains upper cheek teeth. The bone shows weathering, discoloration, open seams, cracking and small losses, with a conspicuous hole in the frontal area. Measures approximately 23 by 20 by 9 inches high.
