A Chevak gut doll, likely by a member of the Paniyak family, depicts a figure mending a fishing net. The figure wears a blue-and-black striped kuspuk, a red floral headscarf and fur-trimmed garments. Its face has bead eyes and stitched features beneath fur hair. Sealskin mittens and mukluks with leather soles complete the clothing; the pale trim appears to be rabbit. Wear includes tears to the headscarf on the doll's left side, tears and separation in the pale fur trim, and shedding, as photographed. The doll measures approximately 6 by 7.5 by 19.5 inches when laid flat, with 19.5 inches representing its overall length.
