A carved stone whale relief mounted on a rectangular wooden plaque, signed A. Potter on the reverse beside a Created in Alaska label. The whale's polished dark back and raised tail emerge from rough-textured golden-brown stone suggesting a waterline, contrasting with the warm wood grain of the beveled plaque. The wood has surface scratches, worn finish and marks on the reverse; the stone has uneven natural texture and minor edge wear. Hanging hardware is attached to the back. Overall dimensions are approximately 15.25 inches wide by 1 inch deep by 7.25 inches high.
