A long, slender salmon sculpture carved from porous whalebone, with an open mouth, incised gills and fins, small inset eyes and a low wedge-shaped bone base. The pale tan and gray surfaces contrast with darker coloration along the underside and base. The eye inserts are tentatively identified as walrus ivory. The carving shows open pores, fine fissures, surface scratches and small rough or worn edges. Overall dimensions are approximately 15.75 inches long by 2.75 inches wide by 5.25 inches high.
