A walrus ivory tusk cribbage board inscribed Gilbert Taxac, Age 14. Rows of drilled scoring holes surround scrimshaw seal designs; the reverse carries a continuous Arctic wildlife scene with polar bears, walruses, ice and water. A worn Silver Hand label remains near the tip. Five small ivory pieces accompany the board: four slender tapered pegs and one short cylindrical piece. A bore in the broad end may have served as peg storage. The ivory shows yellowing, scratches and worn dark detailing; the label has rubbing and discoloration. The tusk measures approximately 10.5 inches long by 1.5 inches wide by 1 inch thick.
