A carved walrus ivory whale with incised mouth and throat details, raised on a dark support above a curved baleen base. Cream and honey-colored areas and patches of granular secondary dentine are visible in the whale. The underside of the base bears a linked mark reading RAY. Measures approximately 5 x 1.75 x 2 inches high. The whale has surface marks and small natural pits; the baleen shows scratches, scuffs, edge wear and some separation of its thin layers at the margins.
