A humorous wildlife scene executed in ink and watercolor by R. Kline, showing a startled pelican lifting above an open-mouthed alligator. Animated black linework is accented with blue, green, brown and ochre washes. Signed R. Kline at the lower right, with a partly obscured date notation, and presented behind glazing with a gray mat and blue inner border in a metallic-finish frame. The paper has light discoloration and scattered small spots, including a brown spot above the signature. The mat and frame show marks and wear, and the backing has scuffed areas. Overall dimensions are approximately 17 inches wide by 13.5 inches high.
