A black Protech Armored Products outer carrier labeled Male Carrier, Small R, with a date-of-issue field reading 10/01. Includes two ArmorWorks Small Arms Protective Insert plates marked X-Small, with manufacture dates of June 2004, NSN 8470-01-497-8701 and serial numbers 05433 and 05412. One plate retains clear wrapping. The carrier measures approximately 22 x 20 inches laid flat and about 4 inches thick. It shows substantial soiling, rubbing and wear to the fabric and closures. Plate coverings and wrapping show scuffs and wear. The carrier label expressly states that the carrier itself provides no ballistic protection. The plates bear 7.62mm M80 Ball Protection markings. This equipment should not be relied on for personal protection without qualified assessment.
