Alaska Premier Auctions & Appraisals is pleased to present the June 2026 Premier Auction! Bid Online Now At: https://bid.alaskapremierauctions.com/ui/auctions/161659 This LIVE-ONLINE simulcast sale differs from our typical online auctions. Our live online sales offer pre-bidding until the auction is scheduled to begin closing, as usual. At this time, however, instead of bidding with a countdown timer as three lots close per minute, we will go LIVE via a video and audio broadcast and begin clerking the sale in real-time, taking competing bids from both our auction platform and third-party national auction platform partners from other bidders around the world. If you are unable to bid in real time during the online broadcast sale, PLEASE make sure to leave your max bids in advance to avoid missing out on this fantastic array of items. Highlights of this auction include: A group of important 19th-century Alaska Native masks, including a polychrome-decorated Yup'ik animal spirit mask circa 1875~, comparable to an example in the Sheldon Jackson Museum, and a Point Hope example with warm, smiling features and labrets. Paintings by three of the celebrated "Alaska Four" artists, including a fine Sydney Laurence nautical scene, numerous Eustace Ziegler portraits and an alpine mining camp landscape, and multiple works by Jules Dahlager. Objects from the collection of Dr. Henry Bascom Collins, Jr. (1899–1987), pioneering Smithsonian Institution anthropologist and archaeologist whose work helped establish the chronology of Arctic prehistory and Bering Strait cultures. A body of work from the Bruce Beasley Foundation, including a nearly seven-foot double crooked beak mask by John Livingston, a Dzawada'enuxw crooked beak mask by Stan Hunt III, a 19th-century Haida canoe model, more than half a dozen portrait masks by Northwest Coast artists, and other important works. An original Bob Ross-painted gold pan. A large narwhal tusk. Big game and fish taxidermy, including a juvenile polar bear, brown bear, black bear, and bull moose. An important pre-contact North American anthropomorphic stone effigy. Several Nome Gold Rush-era scrimshaw cribbage boards attributed to Happy Jack. An impressive collection of Alaska Native carvings by Brian Kulik, Teddy Mayac, Ron Apangalook, John Pullock, and many others. A monumental early 20th-century Billy "Billiken" Komonaseak scrimshaw walrus tusk cribbage board, surpassing comparable examples held by the University of Alaska Museum of the North and the New Bedford Whaling Museum in both scale and execution. Original paintings by notable Alaskan artists including Scott McDaniel, Ernest Robertson, James Belcher, Byron Birdsall, Harvey Goodale, Joan Kickbush, Norman Lowell, Alex Combs, George Ahgupuk, and others. A group of Alaska Native artifacts and 19th-century objects, including carvings, utilitarian tools, a published hunter's belt pouch, a fine umiak model, several kayak models, a bird dart, ice fishing poles, smoking pipes, and more.
